Dr. Patricia L. Murray earned her medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in 1981 and completed her OB/GYN residency at George Washington University in 1985. Dr. Murray was board certified in 1987 by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
After finishing her residency in 1985, Dr. Murray served on active duty in the United States Air Force, stationed at F.E. Warren AFB in Wyoming until 1989, Wiesbaden Germany until 1991 and Travis AFB, California until 1994. After separating from the Air Force in 1994, Dr. Murray joined Pratt Medical Center in Fredericksburg for 17 months, and then practiced in Evanston, Wyoming for 3 years before opening her Fredericksburg practice in 1999.
In 2002, Dr. Murray gave up obstetrics to devote her time to gynecologic services, advanced pelvic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Murray takes a special interest in menopause, hormonal therapy, menstrual disorders, urinary incontinence, and uterine and vaginal prolapse.
Dr. Murray has maintained board certification requirements and successfully completes continuing medical education credits. She continues to refresh and train in new advanced pelvic surgery techniques and minimally invasive surgery procedures including many laparoscopic procedures.
In 2010, Dr. Murray completed training in Aesthetic Medicine and now offers Botox and derm filler cosmetic services.
Dr. Murray volunteers her medical services for the Moss Free Clinic and has served on medical missions to Haiti in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Dr. Murray survived raising six children (they survived too), including a set of triplets and now enjoys being a grandma.
